Strawberry Shortcake. Picked up some strawberries Strawberry Shortcake. Picked up some strawberries at the farmers market with Anna and tried out a NY Times recipe for a quick and easy dessert. It was delicious! But the way the recipe had you cook the biscuits (double-stacked and at 450 degrees) had them come out dark on the outside and doughy in the middle. Once that was fixed, they turned out great and would be tasty even on their own. #strawberryshortcake #nytimesrecipe #nytimescooking
Anna asked me to make a German Chocolate Cake for Anna asked me to make a German Chocolate Cake for her birthday party. I found two recipes online that I liked so I made them both! The first one with the chocolate frosting was really chocolatey, dense and moist. It was delicious! Would definitely make again. The three layer one was a lot lighter cake with a lot more frosting. Unfortunately, it didn’t travel well and was a bit of a gooey mess by the time it reached the party. Still tasty, though. But the star of the evening was Anna! And it was great to be able to celebrate with her family and friends all around her! ♥️😊😋 #germanchocolatecake

There are a few unusual steps that end up making them both a bit crunchy and chewy. I like them!
