Cherry Pie

  • Servings: 1 Pie

Ingredients

  • 4 Cups Pie Cherries and Juice (you can also buy 2 16oz cans of pie cherries)
  • 1 1/4 Cups White Sugar
  • 3 Tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1/4 Cup Pietone
  • 1/3 Cup Water
  • 1/8 tsp Salt (2 shakes)
  • 1/4 tsp Butter Extract
  • 1/4 tsp Almond Extract
  • 2 Basic Pie Crusts

Directions

  • 1)

    Simmer cherries, juice, and sugar.

  • 2)

    Make paste of cornstarch, pietone, and water and stir into cherry mixture. Cook until thick.

  • 3)

    Stir in salt and extracts.

  • 4)

    Cover and chill (or put right into crust and top with top crust).

  • 5)

    Pour filling into bottom crust and top with top crust.

  • 6)

    Brush top crust with milk and sprinkle with sugar. Be sure to cut vents (fun option is to cut out hearts in each piece).

  • 7)

    Bake at 375°F for 45-50 minutes.
