Cherry Pie

Ingredients
- 4 Cups Pie Cherries and Juice (you can also buy 2 16oz cans of pie cherries)
- 1 1/4 Cups White Sugar
- 3 Tbsp Cornstarch
- 1/4 Cup Pietone
- 1/3 Cup Water
- 1/8 tsp Salt (2 shakes)
- 1/4 tsp Butter Extract
- 1/4 tsp Almond Extract
- 2 Basic Pie Crusts
Directions
- 1)
Simmer cherries, juice, and sugar.
- 2)
Make paste of cornstarch, pietone, and water and stir into cherry mixture. Cook until thick.
- 3)
Stir in salt and extracts.
- 4)
Cover and chill (or put right into crust and top with top crust).
- 5)
Pour filling into bottom crust and top with top crust.
- 6)
Brush top crust with milk and sprinkle with sugar. Be sure to cut vents (fun option is to cut out hearts in each piece).
- 7)
Bake at 375°F for 45-50 minutes.
