Candy's Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • Total time: 30 Minutes
  • Servings: 2-3 Dozen

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Packed Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Peanut Butter
  • 1/4 Cup Shortening
  • 1/4 Cup Butter, softened
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1 1/4 Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 3/4 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 3/4 Cup Milk Chocolate Chips

Directions

  • 1)

    Mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, peanut butter, shortening, butter, and egg in large bowl. Stir in flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Cover and refrigerate about 2 hours or until firm.

  • 2)

    Heat oven to 375°F.

    Shape dough into balls and place 2-3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

  • 4)

    Bake 9-10 minutes until light brown. Cool 5 minutes; remove from cookie sheet. Cool on wire rack.

Notes

For Lighter Cookies: use reduced fat peanut butter. Substitute 1/4 package (8 oz size) reduced-fat cream cheese (Neufchatel), softened, for the shortening. Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla with the egg.
