Country Apple Fritter Bread

Ingredients
Bread:
- 1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
- 2 tsp Ground Cinnamon, divided
- 2/3 Cup White Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Butter, softened
- 2 Eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 1/2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 3/4 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 Cup Milk
- 2 Apples, peeled and chopped to 1/2-inch dice (Granny Smith is best)
Old-Fashioned Creme Glaze:
- 1/2 Cup Powdered Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Milk or Cream
Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F.
- 2)
Spray a 9×5-inch loaf pan with non-stick spray and set aside.
- 3)
In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon together. Set aside.

In another small bowl, combine the diced apples with the remaining 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and stir to mix. Set aside.

In a medium-sized bowl, beat white sugar and butter together using an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.

Beat in eggs, 1 at a time, until blended in; add in vanilla extract and mix.
- 7)
In another medium-sized bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda and add into creamed butter mixture and stir until blended.

Mix milk into batter until smooth.
- 9)
Pour half the batter into the prepared loaf pan; add half the apple mixture, then half the brown sugar/cinnamon mixture.
- 10)
Gently press apple mixture into batter.
- 11)
Pour the remaining batter over apple layer and top with remaining apple mixture, then the remaining brown sugar/cinnamon mixture.
- 12)
Lightly pat apples into batter; swirl brown sugar mixture through apples using knife or spoon.
- 13)
Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool for 15 minutes on a wire rack before removing from the pan.

While the bread cools, prepare the glaze. In a small bowl, combine the powdered sugar and milk. Mix until smooth, and then drizzle over the cooled bread.
